Beach House Looks byMollie

This is a look that would totally suit my lifestyle in Stone Harbor, NJ or in my back yard in Pittsburgh!

byLangley is  all about the way we dress at home… I call it my home style .  As those of you who have been listening to me rant and rave, I truly believe the idea that I might lose my style just because I spend more time in my house, is kind of like the beginning of losing myself. Yes, I am mom, wife, and entrepreneur all at home (please, Tom when can I get out of this house!) but I absolutely refuse to look the part of dowdy housewife or exhausted working mommie.

As you have seen before, I am all about mixing lounge pieces with lingerie for date nights in or for relaxing on the weekends. Lingerie is not occasional in my book!! Let me repeat that – LINGERIE IS NOT OCCASSIONAL!! It does not need to be worn just when you and your gorgeous husband get away alone, your anniversary, or your honeymoon. It’s great that you can wear it then, but it’s also way better when you can wear sheer camis or amazing silk shorts in other ways.

With the arrival of summer, therefore, we have a new reason and way to wear our lingerie. Getting it out of the top drawer and onto your body over a terrific bathing suite, or cotton and colorful bralet.

This gorgeous little dress is actually from The Lake & Stars Beach House Collection. They were obviously inspired… are you?

Whether your beach house is in one of these glam places or, more like me and in my imagination, pack a bag and celebrate your gorgeous lingerie pieces looking at them in new ways!!

Inspired by the preppy New England style, this look is also quite modern. A romper is just so now!!

Nantucket Casual – Inspired by my best friend Anne and her beloved Nantucket, I paired the fun, kind of preppy/kind of boho La Fee Verte Romper in an Ikat print with a great pullover hoodie from Soft Joie. This romper could totally be rocked in the bedroom but is also perfect for the cocktails on the beach.  The hoodie will come in handy once the sun sets.

So glam! I love the idea of gliding across the lanai (a la Blanche Deveraux) in this fabulous sheer dress.

South Beach Chic – For anyone who has been to Miami on or after Memorial Day, the less clothes involved the better! But, the glamorati should still be in full force. I love this gorgeous sheer maxi dress from Beautiful Bottoms as a truly ridiculous lingerie item but how cool would it be to throw over a bathing suit after a long day at the beach or pool. I paired it with the LouLou Peekaboo Bralet and matching high waisted knickers… for the girl who really has chutzpah!

This look really is amazing in any beach town this summer. I love that you can literally roll out of bed and swap the LFV shorts that go with this silk cami) for a great pair of comfy sweats. Just grab the stroller and go!

The Hamptons Elite – The Hamptons is really a place, for me, that is full of fabulous memories with friends. It is nothing if not beyond fun when in your 20’s but as a grown up, heading out east changes a bit.  Today, my friends that head to East or South, are more family focused meaning mornings at the farmers markets and days spent at the beach building sand castles. I love the idea of taking this beautiful, soft silk cami out of the bedroom and pairing it with the most comfortable pair of vintage sweats from Monrow in white. Since you’re likely rising with the sun, a lightweight cardi comes in handy! I also love this look because it is not sheer or over exposed. Feminine and pretty for most shapes and sizes — because we all come with our own fabulous differences!

I love how this LFV cami is sheer but also camouflages where it needs to. Great over a bathing suit or a bralet like this one from Undrest. Fire up the BBQ!

Malibu Cool – So, I am going to admit that I have never been to Malibu so this look is totally what I think someone might wear if she had a Malibu beach house. She’s cool, she’s effortless, she surfs – or at least is somewhat inspired by the culture. I adore the neon pops of the Undrest Bralets and knickers. Here we threw this cotton bralet together with the stunning sheer-ish Gypsy Rose Tank and totally comfortable Monrow vintage shorts for a look that can 100% be worn around the house or even into town.
