Bright colors are everywhere this Spring. From hot colored denim to neon skater dresses, I have been pinning and pining for many a brightly colored item over the last few months. But, like all in your face trends, there comes a point when my eyes tire and I need/want something new and different. And so, I stand before you inspired by NUDES! Unlike the “it” candy colors, nude offers a very grown up POV. I find that blush, especially blocked against black, really is sophisticated and fresh.
And so, to give our eyes a little something fresh and adult I have chosen this stunning (probably my favorite piece in the collection right now) The Lake and Stars Hot Bed Bustier Chemise as my May Lust. It is remarkable! The design duo at TL&S have really created a bit of fantasy in something that is extremely easy to wear. Let me start with the actual construction. Gorgeous nude mesh detailing on the torso has a bit of sparkle. I slip this on and instantly feel like a mermaid in a cocktail dress! The fishnet continues with a black demi cup style – hints of sea green and coral are discreetly woven in the fabric. And how does it fit? Like a glove. It molds and shapes and I promise will look fabulous on just about any shape – hourglass or if you’re looking to fake one! The attention to detail is not lost on the back, where an almost couture like hook closure is fastened by coral (yes, here’s your color!) grosgrain. This is art! I would totally rock this on a weekend away with my hubs and pair it with The Lake and Stars Jock Straplette, also seen in the 2012 Hot Bed Collection – because it can and totally should be all about sex. But it’s also great to wear on your Date Night In with a terrific long cardi or just by itself. Oh, did I mention The Lake & Stars are no joke? Maayan Zilberman and Nikki Decker are the real deal. Now, if you just want to dip your big toe into the Nude pool, look no further than every girl’s favorite lingerie designer Cosabella. As we all know, Cosabella gets us – sexy, fun, versatile, and always well made. The New Soire is a favorite style. A tightly woven mesh, this fabric is super sexy when it needs to be (it is see through for goodness sake) but also extremely comfortable. The New Soire historically comes in solid colors but this season the designers created a nude mesh with black piping. So on trend and so pretty! I love to wear this criss cross shape practically every night under tees or nighties and the matching thong is pretty sexy! It’s the new way to color block!
Lust or Must? I want both!!
