I am so very excited because one of my dearest friends just got engaged to a great guy.  Unfortunately I have yet to meet him unless you want to count back in 2003 when I went to visit her in Florida.  And even in that case I didn’t meet him, I more or less just giggled about how cute he was.  One night we went to the local fish market to pick up some food to grill.  The strapping young lad that sold us our fish was my friends fiance.  We couldn’t stop talking about how cute he was.  When she first started dating him she still confirmed that yes the guy she was dating was the guy who owned the fish market.

Well 8 years later after 8 months of dating my friend and the cute fish market guy are engaged and I couldn’t be happier for her!

Anyway, the point of my story is to because yesterday I was in a cute local home furnishing store looking for an engagement gift for her. I was thinking I could get them something for their home like a set of knives, a toaster, a cookie platter, you know the usual engagment gift, something boring and lame.  I was thinking some good for their home because they just moved in together.  Then I keep thinking and they are living in Dallas in what use to be just his apartment, she is definitely adding a girlish touch but they will only be in Dallas until December before moving back to their hometown in Florida so why would I get them something for their home now.  I then knew what the perfect gift would be, lingerie.  It is something that they can both enjoy, she can look and feel great wearing it and he can love the way she looks in it.  So, after years of giving boring engagement, wedding and baby shower gifts I’m turning over a new leaf on gift giving.  All my friends should expect lingerie, loungewear and sleepwear from now on!

Jennifer Aniston has been everywhere recently.  She recently got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, has a new movie out in theaters, and has a new man on her arm. At the age of 42, Jennifer looks better than most of us, and continues to wow on and off the red carpet.  Her style has influenced women for years starting with her famous, “Rachel” haircut.  I’ve been a fan of Jennifer for years and am nothing but happy for her and the way her life and style is evolving.

At the beginning of the summer Tom (Mollie’s husband) asked me if I had any favorite summer songs yet.  At the time I didn’t, but I’ve been at the Pittsburgh airport quite frequently since Memorial Day and all those plane flights have given me some time to nail down my summer playlist!  (Thank you Delta for having WIFI on board)  Tonight I am editing the photos we shot over the last couple of weeks and I am overwhelmed with joy and happiness from my music selection.

It’s been awhile since I’ve done a “Whose Workin It” post, but this certain celebrity is too gorgeous not to mention.  Gwyneth Paltrow has been around for years and has always been a part of the fashion world, but recently she’s kicked it up a notch.  She’s had some epic fails in the past, remember the black Alexander McQueen gown she wore to the 2002 Oscars, but in more recent years, her style has evolved and grown.  No matter what the occasion, Gwyneth always looks super chic.  One of the many reasons I love her is her no fear of showing some serious skin, especially her legs.

After a great long weekend with family and friends in Massachusetts I was very excited to get back to work on Tuesday because it was time to start photographing some of the beautiful samples we had arriving daily of merchandise we ordered for the fall.  Tuesday and Wednesday Annie and I had two very productive days of shooting merchandise as lay-downs and on our dress form, Victoria.  We especially enjoyed working with Victoria because we didn’t have to get her coffee or water, feed her and she never complained about how many outfits she had to change in and out of over the two days.  Thanks Victoria for being so cooperative and patient with us.

We have a busy day today shooting on our model Danielle.  I know it will be as much as a joy working with Danielle as it was working with Victoria.

The past few weeks have been crazy busy at the byLangley office.  There aren’t enough hours in the day and days in the week for work and play.  But we have managed to welcome 3 new ladies to our team!

2 weeks ago Victoria, our beautiful dress form came into our lives.  During her interview she failed to mention the purple tattoo on her thigh.  We were a little disappointed in Victoria for not mentioning it to us but Annie got to work and carefully removed it.  Props to Annie, Victoria is looking better than ever before.  Here she is rocking a beautiful Christine Vancouver romper.

On Saturday, July 2^nd  came the next new member.  Mollie gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Maryn.  Maryn is as healthy as can be and Mollie says Maryn doesn’t want to stop cuddling with her Mommie.  I’m pretty sure it is the other way around and Mollie can’t stop cuddling with Maryn.  Mollie, Tom and Maryn make the cutest family ever! Congratulations to the Lang family!

We have been searching Pittsburgh high and low for the perfect model for byLangley.  Finally today we had a test shoot with a potential model.  Annie and I were busy shooting products and had a pleasant break in our day when we met Danielle.  Our afternoon went great and we are pleased to welcome the 3rd   newest member to the team.  We can’t wait for our first official shoot next week.

But first I’m off to Massachusetts  to celebrate my nieces 1^st birthday!  Check back, maybe you’ll get a sneak peak of some of the things byLangley will be offering this fall…

You finally indulge and you buy yourself some killer loungewear and lingerie from bylangley.com.  You wear it, you look fabulous and you feel great.  You make jaws drop.  You get lazy and you throw everything in the washing machine with your dirty gym clothes and you wash everything with hot water.  Then you throw everything in the dryer without thinking twice.  It’s dry.  You pull it out and  now you’ve ruined those killer pieces that you were wearing to make jaws drop.  Unfortunately,  you’ve learned your lesson the hard way.

We get it, you’re busy.  Who isn’t?  No matter how busy you are you will make time for things that you want to do.  I not telling you to wash every piece of clothing you own by hand because that’s crazy.  Just take an extra 5 minutes when you are doing your wash to separate your delicate loungewear and lingerie pieces from your everyday clothes.  I have to drag my butt all the way to a laundry mat to do my laundry and I still can make time to separate my clothes to make sure they are washed in cold water on a gentle cycle.  So, for all of you that have the luxury of having a washing machine and dryer in your home don’t tell me you are too busy.

The really specials pieces I have that actually mean something to me I will take the time to hand wash them.  Do you know how to multi-task, I know you do.  Well, multi-task and soak your special pieces for 15 minutes while you are in the shower and then when you are done, wash each piece by hand, pat them dry, hang them and then a few minutes later you have clean intimates and it haldly took anytime out of that busy schedule you think you have.

Would you put your favorite DVF silk dress in the washing machine with your jeans and bath towels? Probably not.  So why would you wash your delicate loungewear and lingerie in with your everyday clothes?  No more excuses, take time to care for your favorite underpinnings as you would your favorite silk dress.

Now get out there and make jaws drop in your birthday suit until bylangley.com launches in September.
